Main characteristics of the French business schools
The French business schools offer courses including three years of studies of
management. The entrance fees amount approximately to 5 500 Euros
on average per annum, but there are ways of financing its studies Recruitment
is opened to students from "classes prépas" but also
to the holders of a university diploma with a minimum of two years
of higher studies, in a procedure known as
parallel admission. Many Business schools recruit students with a general certificate of education
but few of them are " Grandes Ecoles ".
The distinction between Business schools and Grandes
Ecoles is not always easy. There are in France more than one hundred
Business
schools but only about thirty of them can be regarded as Grandes
Ecoles. The Conference des Grandes
Ecoles federates most Grandes Ecoles in France, but some Grandes
Ecoles are not members of the Conference and some Business Schools
from the Conference do not have all the attributes of Grandes Ecoles.
The visa and the homologation from the French Ministry of Education
and the European label Equis also offer useful
indications about the quality of a School.
